Carey Maclean

About Carey Maclean

I graduated from Otago Polytechnic in 2001 and have since built a diverse career across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. I have been working as a Clinical Services Advisor for the past 3.5 years. As a single mother of two teenagers, I am passionate about supporting families and individuals, particularly in the areas of challenging behaviours and housing modifications.

In my current role at Enable NZ, I focus on equipment, housing modifications, and vehicle adaptations. I am especially interested in addressing the unique needs of individuals with challenging behaviours. I am actively involved in developing assessor training programmes to enhance support for assessors working with people with challenging behaviours and their families.

My career history includes roles in acute inpatient care, child development services, school-based services (including ORS and Moderate Needs), and outpatient rheumatology clinics. Additionally, I have experience in pain management and have worked as a private contractor specialising in housing, equipment, and vehicle modifications.
